Equine Portraits, FAQ's
Every portrait session is different and I have answered some of the commonly asked questions I have received below. If you have any other questions regarding your session or would like to make a booking call me on 01825 791437 or e-mail me on craig@cimagesphotography.co.uk.
You know your horse best so all I will say here is, make sure he or she is clean and tidy as if ready to go to an event! If you would like to be in the photos I strongly recommend you are well dressed.
If you have somewhere in mind that you would like the portraits to be taken at we can arrange to meet there, such as an estate or on a forest. As you will see with my example shoots most of them were taken in simple fields and woods and these work extremely well as they draw all of the viewers attention onto the horse being photographed.
If you would like some portraits of your dog in the hay barn, running across a field or just relaxing around the yard I am happy to take these for free after your horses' portrait session.
If your horse does not behave at the shoot and we do not get the photos you would like I am happy to rebook the shoot, there may be a small charge.
Early morning and late afternoon are the ideal times for having a portrait session but that is not to say midday is bad! On a cloudy day any time of day is good.
This depends on what you would like to achieve in your session, if you would like some photos in the bluebells or amongst the crops then these are seasonal. I have even found that winter can be great for portraits, but the spring and summer are the ideal times.
One of the most important factors at your shoot will be the weather, a bright warm day with hazy sunshine is ideal. If heavy cloud cover or rain is forecast I would suggest rearranging the session as the photos may not do your horse justice.
If you would like to cancel or organise the shoot for a later date please notify me as soon as possible. I will not charge you for rebooking the shoot unless it is done with in 24 hours of the arranged date where there is a £10 charge..
the photos will be edited and we can either arrange to meet up to discuss the outcomes you would like, or I will post a contact sheet of the proofs to you. You can relax and take your time to choose to choose the prints you would like and I can offer my expertise to guide you on prints, framing options and other accessories.
All prints purchased in frames will come in high quality Nielsen frames. If you would like a few copyright released images rather than a framed print I am happy to discuss this with you. All prints are produced at a professional lab
If you would like to give a friend a portrait session as a gift I am happy to provide a gift voucher.
