Farrier at Work

This was one of the harder photo shoots I have done in a long time! Photographing a farrier re-shoe a horses' feet one late September evening sounds quite picturesque but it wasn't... The only option I had was to shoot at the highest grain/ISO level possible to draw all available light into my camera and then convert the images into black and white on my computer.

The results follow on from my 'Hands in Nature' series, focusing on how people use their hands for their every day jobs, a project I am hoping to intrigate into my winter work documenting hunts and shoots.
